Flat-iron no.3,. All brass except the piece of iron inside that had to be taken out, heated and then put back. The construction of brass is very solid (thick) and also the iron makes this flat-iron is quite heavy compared to it's size.

Flat-iron no.2,. All brass apart also the bottom, which was more usual than the iron bottom of no. 1. You see the pointed copper on the handle to lock and open the lid. That was covered by a wooden knob to protect your fingers from the heat of the glowing coal that was put inside.
